Hi there,

I am new to photography and I am under the iimpression I need a polarising filter to take pictures with water involded (to remove the glare)???

Firstly could anyone tell me if this is worth it and secondly whether this filter will be OK? (NIkon D40x)

A polarizing filter is probably the best filter you can buy for your camera.

It is extremely useful for landscape photograghy.

Yes the Hoya super circular polarizer is a good filter.

Ahh splendid, and would you know if this is OK for the d40x?

The manual says to use the C-PL circular polarizing filter and not linear filters and it looks like this Hoya is a circular one!?

It should work fine. However, keep in mind different lenses have different diameters. If you have multiple lenses, you're better off buying a filter to fit you're largest diameter lens, and step down rings so you can use it on you're smaller diameter lenses.
