Couldn't find anything doing a search of ealier topics so I apologize if this has been asked before, but does anyone have any idea if (and when) Nikon plans to release prime AF-S autofocusing lenses for use on the D40? I'd like to purchase a 50mm AF-S lens.

Also, I saw Nikon just announced the 18-55mm AF-S VR lense. Has anyone seen how much the MSRP will be for that lense?

Thanks!

Their press release indicates an expected selling price of of $199 for that new lens:

As for AF-S in their brighter primes, manufacturers don't usually announce plans in advance until they are ready for you to know about them. ;-) My guess is that they will have more lenses with AF-S at some point though.

I use a Sigma EX 30mm F 1.4 lens with my D-40 and D-40X and have been quite pleased with the images. here is a sample photo.
