Went to a show last night and took some pics without flash with a D40, just wondering if they could have turned out better... More apreture? More shutter speed? Any advice?? I know there wasnt a whole lot of light, and there was alot of movement....

Thanks in advance!

The high iso's needed for faster shutter speeds in low light result in grain/noise. There is no getting around it. Under these conditions, I doubt that you could have done any better, and I think your results are pretty good. By running some noise resuction software (like noise ninja) during prcessing, I think these would clean up pretty good.

In these conditions, using the largest aperature, and an iso that will get you 1/250 or faster will help freeze motion. Typically, this will be about 1600 iso, or even 3200. Again, though, the downside is the noise.
