Hi All,

Next to the two swans in the lake, this guy is boss of the Canadian geese with whom he hangs with.

He walked up to me and stared at my D300 as if he wanted his picture taken.

Here's one I posted before. This fellow was not going to back down. I walked past him and he stood his ground,, just raising his head up as far as it could to intimidate me then hissing at me... I would have been about half a metre away ( 20") when I snapped this shot.I wasn't game enough to get any closer...

Yes Fewpics, they do have an air of intimidation in these close encounters.

I like your shot. The background makes appear as 3D. Seems yours is all white.

I hope you don't mind but I thought your highlights were masking additional detail.

Here is an adjustment of shadow/highlights, auto levels and focus magic at level 3:

No problems... That was a copy of an original that I resized before I processed and filed itaway, so I can't remember what I did with the original... What you did looks good though...

There are many different colours of these geese here. The one thing they all share in common is their nature,, usually bad when annoyed... Also at this small lake where I photographed this goose, there are swans and they are even worse. My brother sails radio controlled yachts every Sunday morning here and every now and then one of these swans may attacka yacht if it gets too close. I almost got a shot a few weeks ago but just couldn't get the camera out of the car quick enough. Now that was a sigt and a half...
