Default Quick Question - D100 vs. S2 Pro ??

There has been a price drop on the Nikon D100 dSLR. For someone who ownes some Nikon accessories (lenses and speedlight), is the $700 (Canadian) price difference between these two models justified. Will the S2 Pro provide better pics (max 8x10" on a Canon i950) or is it "safe" to go with the D100? Most of my pics will be family members at parties (some time in low-light conditions), kids at sporting events and landscape while on travel. I am an amateur photographer who owns a Nikon N80 (F80 in Canada). THANKS! :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

A pro friend of mine had the D100 and gave it a way to his girlfriend (long story.) He loved the D100. He got the S2 Pro. He has more complaints against it, but in the end he kept it because of the amazing pictures it produced. He just loves the resolution and sharpness.

I believe this question was asked (by someone else) and was lost in the system restore after the hacker attack. The general feel of the answers was that the S2 is a very good camera. I don't remember any one saying "it's worth $700 more" though. Maybe someone who has used both can address that.
