Default Nikon SB-28 on D100 ??

I am planning on purchasing a D100 and was wondering about speedlights. I already own a Nikon SB-28 speedlight and through these forums I found out that it can be used on the D100 but only in AUTO not D-TTL. What's the difference? What advantage is there to purchasing a Nikon SB-80DX?

sb-28 for D100 is AUTO = yes. DTTL = NO

What is difference? I think DTTL use 3-D matrix also flash-fill. Auto is BASIC.

I had sb-28 before, it was not worth it. Now I had sb-80dx.
