Ive had my D70 for 4 years now. Im thinking of upgrading or getting a new Nikon.

I really like my camera alot. Seems like the newer cameras have better color, or its just me. lol

Id like a lighter camera with the same features that im used to. Which of the new Nikons would be the best? And will my sigma 2.8 lens work with AF on it. Is there a new nikon coming out should i wait.

I take mostly sports.

thanks

Since the D70 uses CompactFlash, you probably want a camera that uses the same memory type.

From a cost perspective, you may be just fine with a Nikon D200. I have used it for 2 years and it is reasonably fast with the fast lens. Its price should be at its lowest since the newer cameras are out.

I have a D300, which is also good, but since it just came out, you'll be paying top dollar.

By the way, the new cameras don't have "better color photos" per se. Sample photos from those camera probably had their shooting settings adjusted in the camera or in photo software. If you are shooting in RAW format, you can make a lot of color adjustments to the photos. Thus, your last option is to save the money and continue to use the D70. If you haven't shot in RAW yet, you may want to learn to do that and buy photo software that will read Nikon RAW formats.

I know someone who has used D70 for 3+ years, and he uses photo software to adjust his RAW images to make them look great.
