Are you sure that Capture NX was in your Nikon CD software?
I did not get any discount and the price is held from several months ago

I purchased the camera in March 2008. Capture NX V1.3 was included. It is on a seperate CD. I had to download an update from Nikon so that it could open .nef files from the D300.

Perhaps different countries have different software bundles.

I live in South America but the camera was purchased in NY.
It seems it is bundled a trial version. My bro purchased the camera and accesories but he didn't send me this CD because of this kind of version. Anyone can download a trial version.

I am using CS2 on a OS 10.4 and performed the updates to get able to manage RAW files, at least.
I also have downloaded a plugin (two 'Camera Raw' are displayed in Open File Format.
No way.

Capture NX cd was in box with my D300. As others stated, you can download an upgrade. I, also, purchase my D300 from New York on the internet.

Lucky you!
This is the answer I got from nikontech today.
Thank you for emailing us. We do apologize but the free version of the Nikon Capture NX software was only a promotion which lasted for a limited amount of time. In order to qualify for the free keycode of the Nikon Capture NX software your camera box must state that it was supposed to come with it. If this is the case please take a picture of it and submit it to us with a copy of your receipt.

That's too bad. :-(

But you do have Photoshop (I don't) which I'm sure can do everything Capture NX can do and more.
