I would like to know how I can test a lens so that I know I have a good one.Which things must I do, to minimize buying a flawned version?

Any good advice from the experts here?

Quite simply, always buy from reliable dealer or store.

If they don't have a guarantee or return policy, find another one.

Thanks... Agree on that. With a good shop with a good return policy it should be ok.

Even if you find out a defect.

Some info found from a forum poster:

Lens rental, try lensrentals.com. I've used them numerous times in the past and had excellent service. They sometimes offer used lenses for sale, too.
