I'm going to try this again. I have only had my D40 for a little over a month. I have been using a bridge camera (Fuji 9000) for a couple of years, so I'm probably easily impressed. This panorama was created from six images. It probably won't have the impact on here that it does with the original image because I really had to dumb it down in order to make it comply with the file size restrictions. But for me, this didn't seem to be too bad from the basic kit lens.

Thank you, Sarah Joyce. I used to enjoy reading your comments in one of the other forums. It's good to see you lurking around here. I don't expect to ever be as knowledgeable as you are. But I enjoy taking advantage of your insight.

Very well done, I'm impressed that even the water appears continuous.

What software did you use to merge the pictures?

I used Lightroom to initially match the colors/exposure as closely as possible. Then I exported them to Photoshop CS3 and used the Photomerge function. It was completely redone in Photoshop CS3. CS2 wasn't able to merge the images. It has made a big difference. I understand that it has been improved even more in CS4.
