Can I get a module that will allow an old Sunpak auto 555 to work on my new digital nikon D80 camera in auto mode.

I tried to find a similar module when I purchased a new Olympus E10, but Sunpak (tocad) was less than helpful when they told me they had no plans to make digital camera modules for Olympus cameras. The SP555 works great on all my film SLR's

It's highly unlikely that you'll get an I-TTL module for the flashgun. You should still be able to use the flash in manual mode or automatic mode if the flash has one. Set the camaera to manual remember to set the shutter speed to 1/250 or less and set the flash and camera to the same F number and ISO.
