Default Superwide lenses and Cokin filters

I asked this in another forum and didn't get any bites, so since I use to post here when I had my Pentax, I thought I would ask. I am interested in getting a superwide zoom like the 10-20mm Sigma for landscape work with my D80.

I already have a nice set of Cokin ND Grad filters and have read that if you get the slim holder you can go down to 20mm without vignetting. Does this mean I cannot use my Cokin filters with the superwides? Has anyone here tried Cokin type filters with them and what results did you get? The superwides seem to be pretty popular now with the DX sensor cameras. I suppose I could hold the filter in front of the lens without a holder - Bruce

Which Cokin do you have?
The P-series works fine for me....

NHL - I do have the P-series, both in ND and 3 ND grads. That's good to hear as Cokins says their holder is only good down to 20mm. I put the link below that tells about this - Bruce
