Default D200 - SB600 problem

Hi there
I cant figure out how to make the flash go of when its not connected to the camera. I know it can be done, but there is nothing in my manuals that reveals how to do it. Can anyone help?

You'll need to go into your D200's Custom settings for "Bracketing/Flash", then scroll down to the Menu choice for "Built In Flash" and change it from TTL to Commander Mode so that it can control an external flash.

Then, go into your Flash Custom settings (on the SB-600) and turn Wireless Remote Flash On. You'll see the instructions for changing custom settings on page 52 of this SB-600 manual:

http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/...hts/SB-600.pdf

See the attached image for the correct menu screen in your camera that you'll find the Built In Flash options on (you'll need to change it from TTL to Commander mode).

You can also visit:

Several of the earlier episodes show how to set the camera and flashes to work.

Easier for me to see how to do it than reading how to do it.

Try and it see. I doubt it cares, unless you need to use the built in flash (then, you'd need to change it from commander to ttl mode).
