Default D5000 Live View Question

O'K I know I'm a lazy git.
That out of the way, have any of you found a quick and easy way of covering the viewfinder when using the L.V. As I have noticed that when using the LV feature that I sometimes get a different exposure to my V.F shots.
Now I know that I have on my strap a custom made V.F cover but that entails fumbling about removing the rubber V.F cover but there must be an easier way. Because of this (time consuming) performance I must admit I dont bother with the cover but I have recently found by experiment that it does make a difference on some outdoor shots.

If it's anything like the optical viewfinder on my D90, you could just put your thumb over it, but then you'd risk getting a thumb print on the viewfinder.

there is a cover that should have came in the box for that. You take off the rubber eye piece and slip a cover over it. Atleast thats how it is on the d90

TCav,
Thanks for the reply,I was hoping someone had come with a simple gizmo like a plastic bottle top or a piece of folded plastic.:-)
Looks like I'll have to give in and use what Nikon came up with.
It's a pity they didnt make a sliding cover, a bit like the Diopter lever.

Pbjunkee,
you didnt read my post properly.
Thanks anyway.
