Default D5000 + 18-200mm combo.

I thought I would show these two pics that I recently took while on holiday in Spain .
I was at Monserat, which is a Basilica and shrine to the Black Madona. People go there from all over to hopefully get a miracle granted.
Anyway I think these two photo's are amazing, they were both taken hand held(no flash) at 1/60th as wide as I could go iso 3200. The wide angle one was 36mm and the one of the Black Madona was 200mm. If you look closely at the wide shot (which I have posted mainly so you can see how far away the Madona was ) you will see the Black Madona above the Altar in an alcove.
The Altar was very very badly lit for the 36mm shot but they then turned off all the lights so that only the Madona was illuminated, hence my zoomed in shot. There were only a few candles placed around the hall.
I have slightly sharpened both shots otherwise they are straight out of the camera. Perhaps I'm easily pleased but for someone who has not been digital for a great deal of time these type of shots still amaze me quality wise considering the conditions.

Thanks TCav,
What isn't apparent is the fact that there was a total ban on photography while the Mass was being conducted ( in fact my camera was physically pointed down by a warden because it was pointed forward as it hung around my neck) and a ban on flash photography afterwards. Also there were immense crowds, plus a narrow window of opportunity because they turned the lights off when the service finished so a tripod was out of the question.Grabshots were the order of the day.
