Default My new D5000

I just got back from a quick vacation in Montreal and Quebec City, where I took some photos with my new D5000 using the 35mm f/1.8 prime. I am very much still in "learning mode." One thing that I would like to find an easy way to do is switch between focus and metering modes. Anyway, as soon as I got off the train in Montreal, I saw this fellow working at the train station bakery (photo 1). We toured the Notre Dame Basillica (photo 2), where I would have liked to own a bright wide-angle lens. We also took in a couple of Jazz clubs, the Upstairs (which was an awkward room for photography) and the House of Jazz (photo 3), which was much easier to get a decent angle for a shoot. Then we went to Quebec City, where we enjoyed the Old City (photo 4) and the great food (photo 5). We really love those windows that open up to the street -- it seems like the best of both indoor and patio dining. It was a delightful trip.
