Default D4 Rumors

Has any one heard any semi-definite news about the D4? When it will be released, specs...

Most rumors I've heard say "summer 2011". Though I heard the "Nikon Image Dr" say "...more new releases will soon be announced". Are they talking about the D4? Replacement for the D700? Hmmm...

Nikon's release pattern has not been typically affected by refresh "s" models. The pro-level camera has been updated on 4 year intervels, so since the D3 was released in 2007, 2011 is the logical release date. However, no one really knows except for Nikon, and everything you hear until an official announcement is just a rumour

The upcoming announcements are likely going to be the D90 replacement, maybe a d300 replacement, maybe a mirrorless, and a few lenses.

That was why I was guessing 2011. I just wondered if any one heard anything more "definite". Guess it's still 8 months too early. Maybe Nikon will say something at the PMA show.

I saw a few patents for mirrorless cameras show up, so i think that may be their next big move.

The new 1ds is coming out soon, so the d4 will be coming out to counter. That is what the 2 big boys do.

Patents don't mean a whole lot either...Nikon has tons of them, and many of them never come to see the light of day. Mirrorless will happen, but most don't expect it in the next bunch of announcements. The D90 replacement is probably the only sure thing coming.
