Default Backordering the Nikon D-100

Greetings,

What's the drill for backordering the D-100...via the web (or) in person?

Do you put down a deposit or do they require full pay up front?

How does one keep track of their order while waiting?

Lastly, can anyone recommend some good-guy vendors...and those to avoid like the plague?

Many thanks.

depending on the dealer.
1-go only for a authorized dealer
2-only deal with one that will not charge your card until shipped. dealers who charge and don't deliver for awhile have your money. getting a refund for nondelivery can take weeks.
optional
3- personally i'd wait till after november i have a feeling there will be other options available.

There's several really good reasons that we have RitzCamera as our e-commerce partner:

They don't charge your card until it ships

They get more and sooner than anybody else because of their buying power

No shipping fee or sales tax

They're very reputable or else they wouldn't be our e-commerce partner.

Hi Steve,

How does Ritz Camera compare with B&H in your opinion? (I have a sales contact at B&H).

Any input on latest waiting times for the Nikon D100...and the Canon EOS D60 for that matter?). Since I work in Manhattan, I'd be a walk-in buyer.

BTW, you have a great website!

Many thanks.

SJMS,

Sound advice and thanks for it.

Can you elab on your #3 comment...after NOV 2002?

Just now I'm debating (with myself) between the Nikon D100 and the Canon EOS D60. Comments?

Many thanks.

The latest feedback that I've been getting is that Ritz has been filling D100 orders in 1-2 weeks. The D60 is still sparce and seems to take 4-6 weeks in most cases.

Ritz and B&H are both excellent vendors.

I ordered a D100 online from Ritz on Aug 3rd. Everytime I check the order status, delivery time has slid back another day or two - always staying about one month from the current date. If orders from Ritz are being filled in 1-2 weeks, any idea what's happening with my order?

Just heard from RitzCamera today and all the D100 orders have been filled and shipped as of yesterday. Another shipment of D100's is due in about a week.

Default D100s back order

I just bought my D100 from the Camera Company in Norwood, MA. they are online as www.cameraco.com. Ask for Ray. I have bought my last three digital cameras from him. He knows everything and is happy to speak with you. Tell him that Howard Lenow referred you. He knows I like him. I paid $1995. I have no affiliation with them, but Ray takes the time to explain everything to you.
