Default Should I get a Nikon D3000?

Thoughts on the D3000? good camera? not so good? I'm looking to buy a DSLR when I get taxes back in Feb, and I want to do as much research on them as I can before just going and buying one. So thoughts please? Thanks in advanced for looking at this thread and helping me out.

MissKay-

I purchased the D-3000 and was disappointed. I ended up selling in off and purchasing a D-5000. That was before the D-3100 was introduced. It now appears that the D-3100 is a much better camera than the D-3000.

If Nikon is your choice, I would be looking at either the D-5000 or D-3100. However, you must keep in mind that they both can only use AF-S lenses.

thanks, what exactly didn't you like about the D300? I'm not completely set on a Nikon, But I want a camera that is user friendly since it will be my first DSLR ever.

it is a older design with older cdd sensor. Will not perform as well as the new dslr on the market

MissKay-

Your first post referenced the newer D-3000. What camera are we really discussing?
