Default nikon d5000 time/date on video clips

Hi,

I've been trying to find out for a while now how I can get the date and time to record and display on video clips on the nikon D5000. Does anybody know if this is possible to do and if so how I do it? I'd very much appreciate any guidance.

Thanks!

I am interested in such function too.

But I remember the date-stamped version of my old Sony DV was about US$100 more expensive than those w/o date-stamp

Why?

It just becomes a distraction to spoil the film. Do you really need the date and time of the bride waling down the aisle...and throuout the ceremony. Isn't it better too create a title slide with date and time - or what ever else you want - in video editing software. Or fade out to a slide within the film updating the time, like day 3 of a vacation.

You can always add it later while keeping a 'clean' original, but taking it out is a bear.

But giving the users the option whether to date-stamp the movie or not

is not a bad idea.

Though I wonder it wont be easy (a simple firmware upgrade may not be able to provide such function).
