So far the best price out there. It is Nikon's budget camera so a few things won't be on it. The most glaring omission is the ability to use a remote shutter. Simply not built into the camera. Does not bracket shoot. Again, it is Nikons least featured camera but the image quality is very good. The 1080p video is an added feature that will take time to make the most of, but, if you are thinking it is a camcorder replacement that is a very bad assumption. Learn how to use the DSLR video features along with some editing and you will come away with some nice and impressive results.

Best Buy has 'em for the same price (see discounted price in cart), but you don't get the "value pack" with it.

FYI - Thom Hogan posted this today on his website:

Quote:
Valentine's PresentJan 24 (rumor)--It appears that the D3100 will get a US$100 instant rebate just in time for Valentine's Day. That puts its price at US$599, a fairly common price point Nikon has had for its low end DSLR in the past few years. (Yes, the D3100 is advertised at that price in a few places already, but that is under the MAP price.)
Might be worth waiting for as he often gets good info. The places that are currently selling for $599 should be even cheaper. Don't get it at Best Buy or you'll be paying sales tax.

Otherwise Amazon currently has the camera for $599 and you may or may not pay tax where you live. Those rectangular dSLR shoulder bags suck. They aren't worth it. If you want a good budget shoulder bag then check out his one. It is slimmer than the rectangular, has good stabilization and will hold about just as much:
