Default D100--How do you Lock or Protect Images?

I know there is a way to protect images from accidental deletion on the D100, but I can't find the procedure in the manual. There are instructions for hiding a photo.

The manual states that a protected photo will be displayed with the "key" icon displayed, but it does not say how to get there.

On my Minolta S414, there is an option in the playback menu for locking photos but I can't find it on the D100.

(edit) Disregard...I found the button on the left side of the LCD screen. Now, is there a way to lock multiple or all images with that button?

The button you refer to is normally just used to protect or un-protect the current image. If you go into Menu, Playback, that should allow you to select multiple images for deletion or protection.
