Default Flash extension.

Hi I am considering an extension cord for my SB400.
The Nikon version is 44 =$70-80 I guess, seems a bit pricey to me.
I'm thinking of using it to allow me to move the light sideways without bouncing off a wall.
So does anyone use an ext lead of another brand or any good /bad comments about them.
Thanks

The Nikon SC29 cable is pricy but you have to be concerned about the quality of the wires that they don't break after being flexed for a while. It's a low volume component and may not offer much of a niche for a quality third party vendor other than a cheap knock-off.

Try this....ratings seem high. I've had no complaints with Vivitar components.

Thanks for the replies.
Good points Bob Nichol but the SC29 is 66 (over $100) over here even dearer than the SC28.
Unfortunately Wingman the Amazon UK site doesnt sell the Vivitar.

I purchased a Pixel TTL cord for under $15. It feels like good quality. I use it constantly and it gets stretched and abused. I often put a flash softbox on the end and have someone handhold it up close to a child's face as we chase the kid around taking pictures. That puts a lot of abuse on the cord! I've had no problems and it fires every single time.

The Pixel version is sold by Amazon UK under two names Pixel and Kaavie, the Pixel gets 3 stars and the Kaavie gets 5 stars but are the same product, the Kaavie has a longer lead thats all, they both have the Pixel logo.
We pay a lot more over here, the Pixel is 18 for example, just a rant of mine, in the UK we pay more for everything inc cars and gas.
Thanks for the info.

Is that a result of import tariffs instituted by your government?

Maybe that as well but we are very heavily taxed in general,20% VAT for instance, when we go to Spain or other European countries we are usually amazed at their lower gas prices, perhaps that is one of the reasons we are not in as much trouble as some?? Our fuel is especially heavily taxed at the moment we are paying 1.35 = $2+ a litre for petrol/gas over here and Diesel is even dearer by about 10 pence.
So unless photography is your livelyhood then I guess it's not a big deal.
I think Americans coming to Europe on vacation get a shock at the prices as a rule.
