Default Nikon J1 / V1 with the FT-1 adaptor

I have used both the J1 and the V1 with with FT-1 adaptor and the 70 - 300mm VR lens. The crop factor gives this combination an eqivalent 810mm - the kind of range that helps my fun with wildlife photography.

Before getting this, I was bothered that the extreme focal length equivalent would make it harder for hand held shots, but overall, I have not found that to be the case, though the V1 with the vuiewer is easier to use than the J1 which is held out in front of you to shoot from the LCD.

I have added a page to my blog that reflects my expereiences with that combo.

In truth, the V1 plus adaptor is quite large and I have not found it to be an uncomfortable combination. I am now using it all the time rather than using my DSLR and it surprising just how quickly it becomes second nature to use.

The attachment shows a result from the V1 / 70 - 300mm VR combo (reduced from 6MB file to 120k here).
