Default D 70

Yes, it looks like an excellent entry level dSLR.
6 MP is more than enough for me....
Steve has to do his review as soon as posible....
I think I'm going to buy that sexy baby.

May be more interesting camera announsments are comming.
PMA will be interesting this year.

At the end we will win. More competition, more technology and cheaper prices.....

Just two weeks...................

Unlike the Digital Rebel which is a de-featured 10D, this D70 is priced higher than the Digital Rebel and is positioned to replace the D100 for less... with all the features, including wireless flash (+ flash compensation) and all the complement metering modes fully intact.

IMO the next D100 replacement will move up market targeting their current owners with higher resolution replacement model (just like the next 10D). It won't be long before the next dSLRs will catch up with the prosumers digicams now with 8Mpixels in the offerings... Remember 2 years ago with the F707/F717, CP5700, and the D7/i/Hi 5Mp cameras all leapfrogging the 3.3Mp dSLRs @ the time?

Well said NHL ...that the way I see it too... I'm a 10D users, but I probablyconsider to get me a D-70 since I do have a great collection of AF-S lenses which I used for the F-5...

Tuanokc

Actually I picked up a used F5 late last year and only paid a fraction of what it costed... It's still an excellent camera in its own right and fit nicely in my collection. Now I'm looking at some used lenses for it which seems to be more plentiful than the EOS from local camera stores... BTW the DCS-14n is also very tempting, let's see how low it goes! :P :P :P

Yes, DCS-14n is very attractive at the current price, however I believe Kodak does it to emply the current stock before the land the new model which cost substantial less(with the rebate promotion). Only a coupe things that bother me that: it takes 20 second to turn on that SOB and the body shape look awful. I believe the main body built on the N-80 camera. I think I will try the D-70, at $1,299 with that new lens is a great deal. I have the 28-70mm F/2.8, 80-200mm F/2.8 AF-S and the legendary 35-70 F/2.8 also. At least I have something worth trying for, but I still have my eyes on the Kodak.

The F5 is an outstanding camera, I have use it much since digital, but looks wonderful in my curio display unit with the big hanukah multifunction back. I'm still shooting with the F-100 sometimes, the Fm2 year of the dragon special edition looks great also in my coolection, both body and lens have the same serial number.

Well, life is good...look like we will learn more about new digital gear within a week since the PMA starts anytime ...soon.

Cheers

First I must appoligize to Steve for noting another web site instead of this one. MUCH Sorry! ops: I do love your reviews, just very excited.

I will be moving up to DSLR this spring; only watching to see which one to choose. Starting from scratch since I only have 2 manual focus Minolta lenes.

How much price dropping do you think there will be after PMA?
