Default Short lived D100

I was excited to pick up my new D100 yesterday! It exceeded my expectation on speed and control layout. Truly impressed.

But after five shots, it flashed an Err message, then promptly died. Completely dead. Nothing on the display. No response of any kind. Swapped batteries, no change. I took it back to my dealer, they couldn't find any magic solution. Called Nikon....no help.

So, after five frames, I'm back to no dSLR!

Has anyone else experienced infant-death with their D100?

(I shouldn't be surprised. My first 950 had a bad LCD pixel...camera promptly swapped by dealer; my 990 had a dust spec on the CCD....again swapped by dealer. Wouldn't focus consistently on tele, returned to Nikon. Still doesn't focus correctly. Will go back to Nikon when D100 finally arrives. Am I a masochist for Nikon or what?!)
