Default Which should I use for this environment?

Okay, my wife and I want to take pictures during an AAA day baseball game this coming weekend. We will be in the 2nd row of field level seats next to the home dugout and want to have the best general use setup as possible. We both will need to use the auto-focus capabilities of the cameras.

Lenses available for use:

Sigma DC 18-50mm 1:3.5-5.6 HSM
Quantaray TECH-10 NF AF 70-300mm 1:4 - 5.6 D Macro
Quantaray 18-50mm 1:3.5-5.6 AF
AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G
AF Nikkor 28-80mm 1:3.5-5.6D
AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm 1:4-5.6G ED

something labeled - Bower Digital Super Wide 0.42x AF Lens
I have a Nikkor 2x converter somewhere around here too.

If you were a beginning DSLR user, which lens would you pair up with which camera?

Thanks in advance!

On a side note, the D70 with the Sigma HSM lens I bought earlier today for $100. Was that a good deal? I hope so, my wife will kill me if it wasn't.

I suppose it was a good purchase as long as they both work. You indicated that you purchased a D70. Is there another camera you are going to use besides? Even though you are going to be sitting in the second row, I suspect you are going to want pictures of individuals and action photos. You probably will want to use your longest lenses. The others will be good for wide shots of the stadium. But they won't allow you to bring the action in close. I know, not much help. But maybe someone else will have some more ideas.

The lenses you have, paired with the Nikkor 2X teleconverter, won't autofocus.

For what you want to do, you need the longest focal length you can get, even in AAA, the field is big, and you'll need a focal length of 300mm just to get good shots half way across the diamond.

Perhaps a better idea would be to just go to the game and enjoy it.

Wife will be using the D5100 and I will use the D70. Looks like the best setup will be with the zoom lenses.

Thanks for the tips!
