Great shots Harj,

Reminds of my last trip to London, it is a beautiful and unique city.

Something the D810 does really nice is video.

I am exploring the possibilities with my camera and I created a small clip of NYC.

Enjoy it..!!

Default London Nocturn 2018 - 3 pics .. 3 Nikkors

Finally got my mitts on the 180mm f2.8 - used but in excellent condition and at a good price with 6months warranty from London Camera Exchange. First outing with the 3 nikkors down to the London Nocturn 2018 Cycle road race:

Nikkor 85mm 1.8 + D800 (ISO 800) @ f5.0

Nikkor 85mm F1.8 (ISO 800) @ f5.0- Elite Womens.

Nikkor 50mm F1.8 (ISO 2500) @ f2.0- Team Wiggins Elite Mens.

Since the change of venue a few years ago the weather never holds up and they had additional lights ready but failed to use them for the elite womens when it would have really helped. They were truned on once the sun had set and it was the elite mens turn. Its started to drizzle a few times so I decided not change from the 180mm and to work with that lens for the rest of the elite rider events.

The 85mm I thinks the better lens for this event (depending on where your location is) as I found the 180mm restrictive once the riders had gone past you. Think a 135mm would be ideal ..and the wee 50mm is pretty handy for shots that are side on from the barriers

Where's the 180mm shots.. ??? I'm still working through them so I'll post once I've worked on a few of them .. there pretty noisy as they're nearly all shot at ISO 1600-2500 Harj

Hard,

Sorry for the late reply but I've been busy lately.

I see you have the 180mm f2.8 now in your arsenal, thats is a scary sharp lens..!!

Nice pictures, looks very sharp and great for this kind of photography.

Keep sharing your pictures.
