Now to activate the internal 4kp50 recordable mode and sell it for $300.

Impressive.
If that's "several" miles away at 300mm. You have to have cropped it quite a bit.

More nice shots. Looking forward to mine. I see Nikon will be offering a 70-300 for the N1 system. Seems like a very smart idea to me.

I like Nikon's "forgotten" system.... and I'm waiting for a price crash on the V2 to indulge...
The 120-300 IS a monster on the "1"....

I saw a V2 at KEH, body only, for $550 or so last night in LN- condition if you are interested.

Indeed lot of choice here for +800mm starting from under $200
o Nikon AF Zoom Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6G Lens
o Nikon AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED
o Nikon 1 Nikkor VR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6
o Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 OS

Beautiful shot. Really impressed by this camera. Of course the lens helps too! I have to assume the new 70-300 in the N1 mount will be small and really sharp because like you say there are way cheaper options, even if you include the price of the adapter.

Very true John,

Especially for you; However, most folks in this thread like myself already started with a Nikon lens, so the adapter is the only device needed to augment their lens arsenal by 2.7x time with this camera (hopefully using their existing lenses)

In another word the miniature 70-300 in N1 mount would be a hard sell to folks who also shoot with their regular Nikon dSLR, when an F-mount lens will work with both. i.e. the middle of the road Nikon AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED is a very decent lens if you don't mind the regular size
