Default Tri-Cycle

Never thought this was really existing.

I think they are called "tandems" and they can have up to 5 seats in a row.

A tandem can still be a tricycle if it had 3 wheels, but the seats have to be front to rear, not side by side.

I've seen them around the local state park, but I'm not exactly sure what their purpose is.

BBuilder is correct. Technically the number of wheels and not the number of seats that determine what it is called: unicycle, bicycle, tricyle, quadracyle, etc.

Thank you BBbuilder and Wingman to correct me in name, I hadn't checked it up on the net for the exact name. Luckily you both seems to know a lot about bicylces.

Nice catch, Lordje! I see an occasional 2-seater, but I've never seen one with 3-seats.

I wasn't correcting you. I think the title is fitting. I just wanted to mention what they are called.

I've seen them locally. I think you can rent them like a bicycle, canoe or kayak in the local state park here.
