Default Nikon D500 announced

I thought I never will see this camera be announced.

Great times for DX shutters.

Does anybody know why Nikon went with a 20MP sensor instead of the 24MP sensor in the recent D7X00, D5X00 and D3X00 series bodies?

I am thinking provably to give the buffer some room and reach the 10/pfs and the 200 buffer capacity?

Other people state it is not a Sony sensor and it is a Nikon sensor, so provably it is also a other reason.

It does seem a curious move- especially as the 24mp one is a very good sensor...
Let's hope the new one performs with regards DR and Noise etc...

It's a killer feature for the people who have it. You can take a photo and have it immediately upload to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Instagram, etc. You're no longer limited to the size of your flash memory cards.
