Just brought my new D70 home and I'm getting it set up. While my battery is charging, can anyone tell me if PictureProject is worthwhile to load? I have/use PhotoShop Elements and the Microsoft S/W that came with XP.

I always load my pictures through a card reader.

If you're already using Photoshop or some variant thereof ... my answer is no.

ditto. you'd only need the nikon software is you plan to use Nikon Capture. When you install capture it reports the sofware must be installed. Beyond that, I don't find much use for it.

Thanks everyone. That's what I thought. I may be back if I don't get my external flash (Vivitar 730AFNi) working.

I find XP's built in Picture and Fax Viewer to be much more versatile and less bloaty than Picture Project. PP places two services in your startup menu, and possibly more hidden that loads with windows and are always running in the background (hogging memory that other programs might use) even when you don't open the program.
