hi there , i want to buy my DSLR ASAP. Ive been loking at the Nikon D100, D70 and Canon 10D. I only have lenses from the Nikon F80 (N80) and they are tamron. I have always thought that Nikon were the best but ive heard now that a D100 and 10D are based on personal preference. I just want the Best DSLR for that $1500 range and need to get it in the next 3 days before I fly back to australia. Can anyone help?
have been going crazy for this for soo long.
thanks for your help.

If you are already used to your F80 and have F-mount lenses, go for the D100. If you otherwise try the 10D and like the Canon better, sell your old stuff and convert to the Canon system. I too faced the same decision in February of last year, though I didn't have the urgency you mention. I chose Nikon and haven't looked back since.

www.cooterscamera.com out of Dallas has the D100 for $1,399, free shipping. I would recommend you go with the D100 too since you 're already familiar with the N80 and has good investment in Nikon lenses, the D100 is actually disgned on the N80 body and has many similarities, plus the D100's default sharpness setting is much better than the 10D. The 10 D has a better built camera body than the D100, but in your hand they don't feel any difference.

I owned both of the D100 and the 10D, and enjoyed both.:-)
