The new firmware update: :P

Improves moire - every picture will have nice moire. :P

Improves BF - at least 50cm. :P

Improves traffic lighteffect - you will see rich color traffic lights in your pictures. :P

Improves color shift - more visible color shift with excellent colors. :P

Improves ISO settings - ISO will begin from600 and up. :P

Improves money in your pocket - it will not read CF cards grater than 4GB and you'll keep your money in your pocket. :P

Improves speedlight futures. - speed light and pop up flash can be used in the same time - but if y the speedlight hits your head when the pop up flashes pops up no insurance for injury.... :P
Improves noise - you will have more rich noise in your pictures.... :P

Do you want to upgrade now....:lol::lol::lol:

ROFL Conqueror - great post. I've never laughed so hard at a camera joke before! :-)

Seriously, the attached instructions for the firmware update procedure from Nikon sites are more complicated than they need to be.

Basically, the user just has to load the upgrade A and B files SEPARATELY.

I've done mine, and a 2 button reset just for good measure - and it's back to shooting. (The B fileuncompressed was1.7Mb - which had me thinking I got a dodgy download the first time round, as the zipped total was 512kb.)

Civil - you're right:there's no going back as Nikon didn't make available the original shipping firmware.

I've never encountered any of the problems to which the new firmware addresses, so I have so far not noticed anything different! (Now that I think about it, I'm not sure why I bothered to upgrade it, only because it's available!)

I've done the uprade today, took a bout 5 minutes, download the uprade to CF, then upgrade using the CF card.

Test it out, everything function properly

Cheers
