I thought I'd say that for those of you in Europewho have looked at Ebay and wondered, I have bought my Nikon equipment several times from a company called ur-galaxy-ltd in Hong Kong and had magnificent service. The prices are about one third cheaper, the delivery time excellent, and not once have I had to pay any import duty.

I have no connection with this company, but based on the service I have had I will buy there again for anything Nikon when he has it in stock. For example, he sells the 17/55 at £860 against about £1,100 in UK. I reckon the money differenceis better in my pocket than the dealers.

Lucky you who live in the USA where the prices are 20% lower than Europe, and a full guarantee. I take the risk with the guaranteebut in 15 years I have never had a problem with a Nikon body or lens, so I feel quite safe in buying this way.

Just a thought I thought I'd share.

And just to add, here's a page of HK prices for lenses and stuff (all listed in HK dollars, convert to Euros or your local currency for comparison):

Hey PlatinumWeaver, come on down to "home turf" - www.d70users.com

Aussie based forum. I'm there more often than I am here these days... We could do with more ppl from VIC just quietly.

That place posted above doesn't sell lenses IIRC, they just provide a rough price guide (kinda out of date too).I could recommend some HK based selllers, www.hksupplies.com is has a legendary reputation at D70users forum. In fact you could read up on member experiences with a variety ofHK sellers on the D70 forum. What are you looking to buy?

Incredible timing - I just logged on to see if there was a new post.. 5 minutes after you posted..

I would like to, at some stage, get the following.

A 50mm or 50mm equiv prime lens.
A very sharp small-zoom. like the widely praised 70-200 2.8 VRIFED.
Also, I need a new bag, but i'm looking at a nice crumpler backpack I saw in my local store.

All of these things are for in the future though, unless I see an offer I cannot refuse.
