I just got my D-70 today and am really impressed. What is your feelings on the contact pins for the Memory Card wearing with many removes and plug in's ?

Is it better to leave the card in place and down load from the camera or to get a card reader and down load from it ? I just have a concern that to many removals of the card could cause a problem. Is this unfounded ?

Thanks

Paul

Not completely unfounded, but chances of bending a pin are remote if you insert the compactflash properly and carefully. My D100 must've gone through nearly a thousand insertions and removals of compactflash, no problems thus far. I'm always changing cards during work, swaping between camera and card reader, or between cameras. Besides, some cameras don't have USB 2 or firewire built-in to transfer (USB 1 is far too slow to transfer 1GB or more worth of images), and even if they do, using the camera to transfer the images ties up the equipment, meaning I can't shoot while it's downloading.
