Has any one used Sigma 18-50 3.5/5.6 wideangle and 55-200 4/5.6 telephoto zooms
with a Nikon D70; if so please post some pictures or a link to some pictures and your impression of the lenses

The lenses are available from Adorama for $239 as a kit; price sounds good but are they any good and how do they compare with the kit lens and Nikkor 70-200?

Forget those cheapo lens...There is no comparison...

Buy the camera with the kit lens, it is really worth it. If you need a longer zoom (70-300). The sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Zoom Macro Super II will cost you +/- $200 usd and it is an excellent lens in the lower price range.

If you need fast focusing (example: sports) then you need to plan around $1000 usd to get a Sigma 70-200 F2.8HSM($800) + 1.4x converter ($175)or $1500 to get a Nikkor 70-200 VR + Nikon 1.4x converter ($300)

As Morris said, you can't really compare the cheap lens package to something like a Nikon 70-200 or 80-200. Totally different leagues.
Right now you can get a new Nikon 80-200 or Sigma 70-200 HSM for around $700, thanks to the $200 rebate on the Nikon. The Nikon has been around for years so plenty of used (i.e. cheaper) copies are out there. I haven't tried the Nikon yet, but from many reviews I've read the lens is fast focusing even though it's not AF-S. I'm hoping to get either that or the Sigma very shortly.
