Greetings,

Well just when I thought I was getting pretty familiar with with my Nikon D70, I go buy the SB-800. I'm simply overwhelmed with SB-800 and what it can do. Any guides on proper usage of flashes maybe specific to SB-800?

I've tried to enroll in the local college but only offer internet courses and I honestly need hands on training on using this wonderful equipment.

Yes I have the manuals but manuals can only teach you so much. Honestly I would benefit greatly just by knowing angles of flash head positioning and when to use difuser, white tab backing in flash.

I'll move this down to the Nikon DSLR forum. You might get a better response there.

I know what you mean about being overwhelmed by the flash ... me too. Try this link though: http://www.nikonians.org/html/resour...dy-bear-1.html

I think you'll like it. It is a visual representation of what the flash will do under different adjustments, i.e on camera, flash bounced, etc. Now, our pictures might look a bit different since these pictures weren't taken with our flash, but it could give you a basis of where to start, why I'd want to do something, etc. The best thing would probably be to replicate their pictures with your flash/camera (that's what I plan to do one day) Why not as you'll get the practice ,see first hand what you like and don't like and, it doesn't cost anything but time.
