I just bought my first DSLR (Nikon D70). I love the camera but feel I need more zoom / telephoto capabilities. I will mostly be doing protrait / wedding / equine photography at horse shows. I also photograph fire scenes for our local fire department. Any suggestions for a good lens?

My biggest frustrations so far have been my inability to get a shot without flashand not being able to get in close enough.

Nikon 80-200 F2.8: This lens has a nice rebate from Nikon until year end. ($800)

If you have more cash then Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VR ($1500)

a good third party lens would be the Sigma 70-200 F2.8 ($800).

Any of those lens will produce superb results.
