Hello folks,

after reading a lot, saving money and surfing ebay each day for the ultimate deal I decided to purchase the Nikon D70 Kit.
I guess it's a rationality decision, but I think I'm going to be more than happy with the D70.
I was actually about to save for a Canon 20D, but I guess that could've been the ultimate overkill for me in financial aspects and also in aspects of photograhpy.

At the moment I'm using a Canon A60 with 2 MP, so I think I'll be able to shoot some great shots with the D70.

I've seen some great shots from the D70 and I guess it will still be more dSLR for me than I can imagine.
Plus, there were some aspects which convinced me, e.g. the fast flash sync.

I got a nice price at ebay (899€) for the D70 kit and I think this is still a lot of money for a student. And now I got some money left for accesories and of course the lenses which are the main investements in digital SLR photography, right?

Well, however. I'm looking forward to get my D70 next week and hope for some great shots.

YAY KEX!!

you'll be able to get some fabulous shots with your new dSLR! (would've been able to get better ones if it was a canon , but it's a dSLR )

can't wait to see some shots dude!

thanks vito! I'm also looking forward to my first shots.

There are so many possibilities now. If I just imagine to be able to take photos in RAW format ... man that brings a huge smile to my face. :G

I'm going to post some shots as soon as the cam arrives. (hopefully on monday or tuesday)

yeah man! and you'll get to focus, manually! and, when you hit the shutter, it focuses nearly instantaneously!

dSLR's rock

even with the crappy kit lens..i've gotten some halfway decent stuff!

Contrats!!! Now - start reading that manual!! I've only had mine a few weeks but love it more every day.

One thing to watch out for is that little plastic guard on the back. It WILL fall off. take some fishing line and run it through the little hole, then tie a small note and run it under the battery cover.

They cost about 5 pounds so you don't want to lose more then one.

Also - the rubber eye piece will fall off if rubbed against bulky coats.

Have a ton of fun and take millions of shots!!
