For the life of me, I cannot seem to find this information in the manuals:

Can I use the small, on-camera speedlight with the SB800 as an remote, wireless flash? Or, to use two flashes, will I need another SB800 or SB600?

Thanks for any help.

HI!

I had the same question to the Nikons Service just yesterday.

The answer is: you could use your build-in Speedlight as Master and steer another SB 800 as a remote speedlight.

But, the build-in speedlight works just only as a sender of steering flashes. It does not fire flashes as in the normal work. SB 800 works correctly.

So, if you have to have on the foto flashlightfrom two speedlights - you should have two SB600 or SB800.

greetings

Arthur
