I have D70, Mac PB OSX 10.2.8, 256 MB, USB 1.1, hp photosmart 7760. Run Camera RAW under Photoshop CS

I'm listing all this stuff to let you all know what I'm working with. Performance of Camera RAW and Photoshop is ok. I make edits I see what happened ie I don't have to wait for an Unsharp Mask to be applied (a few seconds maybe). I realize I'm underpowered but I'm not tearing my hair out while editing photos. I am tearing my hair out waiting for files to print. 1 Meg jpeg took roughly 30 minutes 34 Meg Tiff took an hour!! Are these times normal? I think not, but I don't have a reference.

So, folks how bout some feedback on your print times mainly. BTW the hp result is quite good.

Thanks, Dennis

Hey Dennis. Dont worry about no one replying. It happens all the time. I am still waiting on someone to answer my aperature question. But anyway, I also have a D-70 with a 1 gig card and I also have a HP printer. The 8450. I print all of my photos from Photoshop and and my jpgs only take about 2 min. to print an 8x10. Mabey you need to upgrade your memory on your computer or dedicate more memory to your photoshop and printing programs. I am not an expert on this but I know when I upgraded my memory and also dedicated more memory to my most used programs my photoshop and printing sped up extremly. Almost 4 times as fast as before. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Arowana. I use OSX and just watched a print job with Process Monitor and discovered PrintJobMgr(a system daemon) using 40% of memory and roughly 50% of CPU. So between that and you comments about memory, it looks like I'm shopping for memory.

BTW I'll look for your aperature question!

Glad I could be of assistance. Dont forget to go into settings and try to designate some extra memory to photoshop and your printing program.
