Hi

After years (too many to remember) fiddling about with manual SLR cameras I've jumped up to a D70 a few weeks ago and am amazed at the new world it's opened up for me.

After the simplicity of my old Olympus OM1 I'm getting to grips with the flexibility and control I now have, but am a bit confused about the histogram display...

Can anyone explain what this is telling me, and how I can use to improve (or whatever) the shots I take/keep

Thanks

Sam

take a look at the following link. it might help you to understand the histogram:

http://www.earthboundlight.com/phototips/histogram.html

but generally speaking, the histogram shows you the allocation of brighness and darkness in a picture.

Hi Lex

Thanks for pointing me to that site. It's a very good description of what histograms are all about within a digital camera, and there's loads of other good tips there as well.

Cheers

Sam

Sorry, typing mistake.

I meant "Kex" not "Lex"
