350D, because the 350d sensor is the same as 20D, and nikon d70s will probably 6,1 Mp, the same as D70, but if you want a "stronger" camera, wait for d70s or get a d70 !

Which feels better in the hand? Which feels right straight away? 2mp is not important compared to being confident in your ability with a camera. Many reports in forums show people finding the Canon too small and fiddly, whereas the Nikon felt right straight away. For lenses, flashes, etc, both ranges have a similar range so it is down to the camera itself. I posted a while back that Nikon are behind in the "race", but looking (and drooling) over and at the D2X their response, when it comes, is fantastic. The D70S isn't going to be that far short of a 20D Canon I expect anyway.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Hold the D70, then the Canon XT, then decide. Your instinct will tell you which is right and which is wrong.

Of course 2MP is not that important however it stands for a new advancedccd(cmos). Besides 8MP raw can have better detail :lol:than 6MP. We don't know D70S or D50 official specification. Let's wait and see how Nikon say.

i hate having to wait for specs especially looking at all those new camera advertisement whereever i go.

i can't wait to upgrade my camera, but i know if i get d70 now, i surely will want d70s when it comes out.

I heard it'll be out sometimes in april-may is dat true?

one more thing, won't CCD type be better than CMOS type?

With the latest news on D70s, looks like the only good thing is a 2" LCD. And no improvements on the sensor (noise/iso). The other new improvements are just marketing flak. Looks like the "leaked" manual and the advance announcements are just a ploy to try to break the Rebel XT sales. I was too hoping to buy a better D70s, looks like XT is the way to go.

Actually the announcement claims lower noise than the D70.

Looking at the press release, Nikon has also announced two new lenses. I wonder if 18-55mm F3.5-F5.6G ED will be the kit lens for D70s? :?: Wouldn't it be a 'downgrade' compare to D70's 18-70mm F/3.5-4.5 IF-ED ?

I have had to return my 2nd 350D!! First back focused and the second turned itself off a lot and then i had to wait a while before it would come back on. Viewfinder info hard to see in daylight and the LCD is awful in bright light. It felt ok to hold at first but soon felt uncomfortable...even my smaller Kyocera has a nicer grip. Do not besold into all the hype that 8mp is so much better than 6....it is not! The improvement is tiny.

Canon have some serious quality control issues and are not getting my business again. Nikon D50 is the one for me....assuming it has not got the same faults i encountered with the 350D
