Hi

My first post here ... and this will seem like a really lame question, I'm sure. I am just moving from the good old Coolpix 950 (still a great camera!!) into DSLR with a D70, which my brotherin the US will be bringing over to Australia. In the package I am buying online, they say it includes a charger and a lithium"battery pack". Can someone please tell me what this is exactly? i.e. does this "pack" it allow you to have two charged batteries available for use or what? I am assuming I need to buy a spare battery. Or does the "battery pack" mean that it already HAS the extra battery? In the pictures of the battery pack it sort of looks "double". In other words, if I want a second battery (which I do) must I buy just a battery, or a battery pack or what?

Despite some scary and some horribly negative posts in various forums, I am really excited about and keen to get this camera and hope to heck I have chosen the right thing after WEEKS of browsing!!

TIA for any enlightenment.

Robin

Robin,

The lithium battery pack is a small plastic holder that allows you to use 3 CR2 lithium batteries in place of the rechargeable EN-EL3 battery. The idea is that, if your main battery runs down and you can't get it recharged right away, you can use the non- rechargeable CR2s in the meantime.

Don't be alarmed by the negative posts you see on the internet.... bad news always gets more ink.The D70 is a great camera and you will enjoy using it.
