Hi,

I have a limited budget and would want to have a flash unit to accompany my d70.

I just bought my d70 and can spare about $150 more for additional accessories. The SB600 and 800 unit are well above mybudget at the moment.

Appreciate any advise on which brand and model I should look for.:?

Many thanks,

Denis

How about this METZ flash? Not too expensive and more powerful then the built-in flash.

thanks for the advise, have look at the website you attached and they did not specify where to buy.

I have scouted ebay but the model posted (metz 54MZ-4) cost way above my budget.

hopefully somebody might post a lower spec model later!

cheers,

Denis

If you have $150 to spare, I would beg, borrow or steal:Gabout 50 more dollars and get a SB600. With the wireless remote, you would save on cords alone. You would not regret trying to scrape up the extra dollars for that flash in the end.

Look through the whole of the Metz range - there are plenty of lesser powered flashes, but I wonder if you will be making a false economy. A low powered flash can be as much use as a chocolate teaspoon.

Yup, I think you guys are correct in suggesting to go for a better flash.

As they say " cheap is expensive " if you know what I mean..

Will dig deep on my pockets and find that extra cash!

Any thoughts on a sigma EF500 DG super or ST model would be appreciated as well!

thanks,

Denis
