I have a new D-70 I bought a few months ago, Still learning all the features. Today I tried the continous mode of shooting. With the continous icon displayed, it will only shoot one frame when the shutter button is pushed and held down. I probably am missing something, but I know not what.

Thanks for the help

Now you aren't confusing AFC with continuous are you? AFC is constant focus metering and for continuous shooting you will see the image of like three envelopes in the middle of the screen. To change this, if it shows S in a square, press the button right of theBKT button(marked with the same symbol I have described)and turn the command dial (rear one) until the continuous mode is shown, exactly as on the button you have pressed. If it is another problem, try and elucidate.

Thanks for your reply. My D-70 now shoots in continous frame mode. The problem was that I was in my office with low lighting, it will not fire continous with low light. I went outside this morning in normal light and the continous fireing works great. Thank You Have a great day.
