Is it the general consensus that the 2.0 firmware update be applied? I have notice some inconsistencoes in the camera behavior. For example, the smalll lcd screen shows a different number of pictures left than is actually taken with the camera. I took 10 pictures according to the picture count, but there were 14 images on the CF card (jpg mode). So, is it a good idea to update. thanks folks!!

I haven't heard of any complaints and the JPEG count is one of the issues that is resolved with the 2.0 update. However, I can't stop thinking about the fact that my D70 died about a week after applying the update. Purely coincidental I'm sure but...? I think the jury is still out on the update so, unless the JPEG count is an issue, I'd wait just a bit longer to see if anything is reported.

I'm sorry to hear your D70 has died, edorfox.
I didn't have any problems with the update, like many other users. It must have been something else that let your D70 die.

I'd say: go ahead and apply the firmware update.
