I have been using my d2x and sb800 speedlight to photograph groups indoors and am encountering bad red eye. I never got this problem with my d1x. Has anyone else had this problem and what can I do about it. Thanks

Hi Cozza

Red eye is a PHYSICAL problem. It is caused by light reflecting off the retina of the subject. It has nothing to do with the camera.

Methods that are used in combatting red eye are to fire a short burst of light BEFORE the main flash. This causes the iris to contract, so that when the main flash and the actual taking of the picture occurs, the iris is no longer open, minimising the reflection of light.

If you are having more red eye with the D2x over the D1x, the problems are NOT related to the camera. A lens might exagerate this reflection, and there are other possibilities.
