Is it true that SB600 will not work as wireless slave when fired with the D50 built in flashM If true, why?
http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/sb600.htm
"...Wireless control means you can put the flash anyplace and it just works. The camera figures out all the exposures. You only need to twiddle with things if you don't like the results. The good news is this feature is FREE with an SB-600 or SB-800 and a D70/s. (You have to add another flash as a commander for the more expensive cameras without a built-in flash or the D50, sorry.)..."

That is correct. The flash on the D50 is not a wireless commander. This is one of the more advanced features in the D70 that was left off the D50. These are not optical slave flashes (ones that are triggered by another units flash)--they are triggered by RF waves. The only way to use this function on the D50 is to purchase the SB800 and either the SB800 or SB600, using the SB800 as the remote caommander.
